We’re a small but enthusiastic band based in the beautiful hills of the Eden valley. Our concert programme is full and varied, playing everywhere from schools to motorway services and even the occasional band stand!

Our repertoire is varied too, and we like to think we can turn our hand to some modern works as well as the old favourites in ‘Silver Band’ songbook.
On this website you’ll find a calendar of our events – both the public performances and our rehearsals. You’d be welcome at any of them, particularly if you’ve got the metalwork and puff to join our happy band.

Here at the Kirkby Stephen Silver Band, we believe in making good music and having fun, and believe in the power of music to move people and make a positive contribution to the community.

So, in a bid to bring new players in, we have a beginners’ band for beginners of ALL ages. It’s not just for kids.
Also, if you’re an experienced player who’s new to the area, or hasn’t played for years, get in touch and maybe come for a few practice sessions. We hold our practice nights every Monday at 7.30pm at our home by the side of the River Eden in Kirkby Stephen.
